HELLO! MY NAME IS GUNDEGA AND I CREATE PAINTINGS, SCULPTURES, AND INTERIORS FILLED WITH EMOTION, TEXTURE, AND LIGHT.

Art as emotion, texture, and transformation.

Gundega Dūduma is a Latvian contemporary artist whose layered works explore the fragile balance between beauty and chaos, intimacy and distance. Her practice blends classical technique with tactile experimentation, giving form to fleeting moments and deep inner landscapes.

Where beauty meets depth, and stillness reveals movement.

ABOUT GUNDEGA

Gundega Dūduma is a Latvian contemporary artist, painter, and sculptor known for her evocative visual language and her ability to merge opposites — beauty and darkness, chaos and order, delicacy and strength.

Her practice combines classical techniques with material experimentation. She starts by crafting hand-sewn canvases from richly textured fabrics, primed with gelatin — a method that preserves the fabric’s soul while preparing it for layers of oil paint. Her works often include pearls, amber, gold, and silver leaf, creating a tactile and luminous surface.

Through this process, she explores the emotional complexity of life, touching on memory, silence, transformation, and the invisible threads that connect us to space and time.

Her pieces have been exhibited in solo shows across Latvia and Europe, and are held in private collections worldwide, including two monumental works owned by Swedish tennis icon Björn Borg.

Where presence becomes experience, and matter becomes emotion.

EXHIBITIONS & COLLECTIONS

Gundega Dūduma’s works have been featured in solo and group exhibitions across Europe, where her distinct visual language and use of unconventional materials have captured the attention of curators and collectors alike.

Her exhibitions invite viewers into immersive environments, where oil, fabric, light, and natural elements intertwine to tell stories that are both personal and universal. Each show becomes a space for reflection — a moment suspended in time.

In addition to gallery shows, her large-scale sculptures have been showcased in prestigious private collections, including that of Björn Borg in Stockholm. These events are not just displays, but emotional encounters, where viewers are encouraged to feel as much as observe.

Whether in an intimate studio setting or an international venue, Gundega’s exhibitions offer a deeply sensorial journey, celebrating the power of presence, texture, and transformation.
